Record sleeve text:

"And each dweller, panic-stricken,
Felt his heart with terror sicken
Hearing the tempestuous cry
Of the triumph of Anarchy."

P B Shelley, THE MASK OF ANARCHY

NO.3 IN A SERIES OF LORD HORROR RECORDINGS

Record label text:

THE SOUND OF HORROR—BROADCASTING TO THE WORLD

Garbageman label
Homage to The Cramps—the last Rock'n'Roll band. The Lord delivers a sermon over a completely incongruous backing, spurred to greater excess by D'nise, Rowetta and Melanie Williams (Sub Sub). Drums clatter madly, strings pizzicate, a twenty-plus chorus exhort. The big FUCK OFF sound of Rock'n'Roll, recorded by the Gustave Flaubert Salammbo Orchestra, was released in March 1990.

"Now this looks interesting," said Lux and Ivy when presented with a copy.

Reviews

"Still clutching your Cramps' Garbageman ? Well lose it rapid. Lord Horror is a hundred mile an hour amphetamine bomb party dance grotesque, horror crossover. Female and Lux-alike vocals merge with a crescendo you could time a strobe to. If this is PJ Proby guesting, then history repeats itself."

PATRICIA FISHER, Up Town

"Covering the Cramps' classic with dance beat takes some guts, then Lord Horror has more than his fair share. It doesn't compete with the original, more exists alongside it. His Lordship's previous Savoy monsters were Blue Monday and Raw Power. This builds to a climax with whirling strings, watch the cover for the crucifiction spin off. Probe's side begins with an arch snatch of 'There's a place for us' before a wicked beat sets off PJ in wild, abandoned form, oozing every emotive crackle, it's wild!"
